Lille is the center of a large agglomeration in the north of France.
Many influences come from Belgium, just accross the border. To me Lille could have been a Belgian city as well.
The history is one of industry, still to be seen in the many gray neighbourhoods in lille and in surroundings cities like Roubaix.
This special on Lille has three chapters.
The Old Town chapter is, as it says, about the old center of Lille, characterized with cobbled stones,
beautifully detailed and coloured facades, a few grand squares and some tiny alleys.
The Euralille chapter is on a renewed part of town, just next to the old center. This development partially carried the revival of Lille.
The around town chapter shows some of the nearby metropolitain region, such as Wazemmes, Roubaix and Wambrechies.
