Both Agde and Sète are historic town nested in between the Mediterranean and the Etang de Thau.
While Sète deals with lots of charm, Agde is more run down.
I guess the reason for that is Cap d'Agde, just outside the old town, catering for large grouos of tourists.
Agde earns its money not in the old town, but in the new beachresort.
