 "Isla des contrastes" is what the local people call their island. And they are right. Tenerife is a varied Canary Island with rugged mountains at the Anaga Cape, with a beautiful northern shore, with desert landscapes and with the volcano of El Teide, Spain's highest peak. These photos I've made during a weeklong hike from the high village of Vilaflor to the small town of Garachico. I especially liked Passaje Lunar, a moonlike landscape with eroded rocks just off the caldera of El Teide, and Arenas Negras a weird black landscape. I hope you enjoy. |         |
