This chapter Burma Shave has photos from the Shan State in eastern Burma. Kalaw is an important market town and a starting point for trips through the surrounding moutains where Palaung and Pa-O people live. To the north is Pindaya, well known for it's caves with thousands of Buddha images. To the east is large Lake Inle, a lake where Intha fishermen row with their legs, and on which border the Padaung live. Traditional Padaung women wear many rings around their necks.
