The area around Maspalomas and Playa del Ingles is the main spot for tourists.
Here the temperature is higher than anywhere else on the island and the sun is most present.
It's a strange area to me. I think I've never seen a city as ugly as Playa del Ingles. It is however a pleasant city to be.
The uglyness has to do with the hotels, spread out all over the place without any structure in it, as it seems.
Maspalomas is a modern remake of El Ingles, so there are not too many highrise hotels. Here the tourist villas flock all over Maspalomas.
The natural highlight of Maspalomas are the dunes. Especially in a low sun the lines of sand are a great view.
But even in the heat of the day the dunes are a great way to escape the commerce in Ingles and Maspalomas.
