This series on Dubai focusses on the Burj-al-Arab, the highrise 7 star hotel on an artificial island just off the coast.
The building shows itself as a sail in the Arab Gulf, or, as other say, as the largest Christian cross in the Middle East.
Whatever the intention, the Burj-al-Arab is a fantastic building.
Other than Mies van der Rohe's statement "less is more", the Burj-al-Arab is way over the top,
but in that direction giving space to all sorts of creativity.
My photos here are made inside the building, in the enormous atrium, on the restaurant floor and from the outside, in front of the building and from the Arab Gulf.
The photos in "changing colours" are made in the Souk Madinat Jumeirah.
