This special on the Rhone valley covers roughly the area in between Sion and the Aletsch Glacier.
This is Switzerland as you think Switzerland has to be, with many high peaks over 4000 meters, steep valleys and alpine meadows with timbered houses.
The Rhone Valley covers two languages, german to the east and french to the west.
But not just languages, also the cultures. The Sion area could have been France, while the Brig area is certainly more german.
In Sion people call their area Valais, while in Brig they call it Wallis.
Here in my special there's a little of both, although most photos come from Wallis.
