This metropolis special has photos of the German capital Berlin.
The series is divided in four chapters, dealing on the downtown area and just around.
Here the focus is on the Stadtmitte, roughly the are in between the Reichstag/Brandenburger Tor and the Museuminsel in the River Spree.
Within this chapter I've added a few photos from the early eigties, still the heydays of communism.
