Marrakech is Morocco's southern Kingcity. It's a bustling town, made out of red and ochre stones combined with mythical palaces.
Marrakech is a real experience.
Within the Medina, the Old Town, is Jemaa El Fna, a large square with people dancing, making music, whistling at snakes and selling whatever you like to eat.
Surroung Jemaa El Fna are the spread out souks.
It's quite easy to get lost here, in between small alleys that more or less look the same, and what looks like a department store dating back ages.
One of the architectural masterpieces in Marrakech is the Medersa Ben Youssef, a former school, laid out with great mosaics, curvy gates and carved ceilings.
Just outside the Medina is Gueliz, the new town. Not as beautifully as the old town, Gueliz, being the new shopping ans housing district has a charm of its own.
